
Launch_K-5 Computer Science Training

Launch_K5 CS is a dynamic 3-day hybrid workshop designed for K-5 educators and aligned with the new K-5 Technology Applications TEKS implemented in the 2024-2025 school year. This workshop integrates computational thinking, computer science, cybersecurity, and AI into core curricula, offering educators a unique opportunity to enhance their teaching practices.
Discover a wealth of K-5 lessons, both unplugged and plugged, ready to be integrated into your classrooms. We will also take time to explore block-based coding and physical computing – essential skills for fostering a generation of learners prepared to thrive in the modern world.
Important Session Information:
This course is a combination of two-days of training at Region 4 and an asynchronous Canvas course. You will receive a total of 18 hours of CPE.
K-2 Teachers will need to attend Sept 16 and Sept 17 from 8:30 – 3:30 at Region 4. At the conclusion of this training you will receive two Vex 123 robots.
3-5 Teachers will need to attend Sept 16Â and Sept 18 from 8:30 to 3:30 at Region 4. At the conclusion of this training you will receive 10 Micro:bits.
You will need to register in two places. A checklist will be emailed to you after registering for this training.
