Nominations are now open for the 2026 Dr. Rod Paige Memorial School Safety Award, the highest honor Region 4 bestows for excellence in school safety and security.

The 2026 award marks the first Memorial presentation, honoring Dr. Rod Paige’s enduring legacy of leadership and service. This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals, teams, charter schools, and districts whose work reflects his commitment to safe, supportive learning environments for all students and staff.

The award recipient will be announced at the 2026 Region 4 School Safety Expo

Nomination deadline is Monday, June 15, 2026.


Eligible Nominees

We recognize leaders who move beyond compliance and deliver measurable, lasting impact in school safety.

Individuals

Educators, administrators, staff, or community members who demonstrate sustained leadership and innovation in advancing school safety.

Teams

School safety committees, emergency response teams, or collaborative groups that show exceptional coordination, leadership, and results.

Districts or Schools

Districts or schools implementing comprehensive, system-wide safety strategies with documented outcomes.

Selection Criteria

  • Sustained commitment to school safety
  • Innovative practices or policies
  • Strong collaboration and leadership
  • Alignment with all state school safety requirements
  • Demonstrated impact, including an After Action Review conducted as part of the evaluation process

Outstanding school safety leadership deserves recognition.

This award honors the work that protects students, supports staff, and strengthens communities across Region 4.
