Session 2 equips educators to foster active inquiry in social studies. Participants will evaluate disciplinary routines including sourcing, contextualization, and visual analysis utilizing adaptable mini lessons within existing curricula.
Discover how AI tools streamline lesson internalization and boost student engagement. Learn practical ways to save time, deepen content understanding, and deliver rigorous social studies instruction.
Session 3 focuses on equipping social studies students to construct rigorous, evidence-based arguments. Educators will analyze structured discussion protocols and writing scaffolds, including Claim-Evidence-Reasoning, to elevate academic discourse.
In Session 4, refine existing social studies lessons into cohesive, inquiry-based experiences with targeted text selection, explicit skill instruction, and clear student output.
In Session 5, shift social studies instruction from memorization to investigation. Learn to craft compelling questions, build strategic text sets, and design inquiry sequences that drive evidence-based thinking.
In Session 6, evaluate authentic social studies work to diagnose student reasoning. Use targeted rubrics and protocols to pinpoint gaps, refine assessments, and strengthen disciplinary thinking.
